Sport is an integral part of human life. It is a form of entertainment that helps us to stay fit and healthy. It also helps to create a sense of community and pride. It is the reason why people support their teams and players.
However, there are some people who try to take advantage of the popularity of sports by setting up scam businesses. So, when wmsports.de appeared as one of the most searched sites on ScamAdviser, we were curious to find out if its a scam or not.
Wmsports.de sells football jerseys from well-known clubs like Bayern Munich, PSG, RB Leipzig Chelsea, and Juventus. The site is in Germany and any German-speaking customer would not have any difficulty navigating it.
They seem to have almost all the jerseys of all major teams which include the home, away and third kits for the upcoming season, 2022/2023.
Usually, most football teams will have their own store which sells the jerseys at the retail price. However, wmsports.de seems to be selling them at a much cheaper price.
For example, the Liverpool home jersey which is sold at the official Liverpool store for £69.95 (€82.18) is being sold at wmsports.de for only €43.95 (£37.41).
The RB Leipzig away kit which is sold for €89.95 at the official RB Leipzig store but here, it's being sold for only €43.95. The PSG home jersey is being sold at €43.95 while on the official Nike store, the same goes for €89.99.
Notice a pattern? Well, the site offers most, if not all of the jerseys at £43.95, which is a considerable drop from what official sites are selling.
This is a huge difference in price and it makes us wonder how they are able to sell them at such a low price. Could be a compromise of quality? Or are they too good to be true?
Any seasoned shopper will tell you that sometimes, you get the wrong size or colour and will need to return the item. This is where things get complicated with wmsports.de
The return policy on their website says you can return the items in the "same condition that you received it: unworn or unused, with tags attached and in the original packaging".
Sounds okay up to that point, right? Well, the biggest catch here is that customers must bear the costs of returning the products back. This seems unfair as it would cost more to ship the item back than what you paid for the product in the first place.
This has been the go-to move by many scammers who make it hard for people to return items. They use this as a way to make money off of people who ordered the wrong size or simply changed their mind about the product.
When we visited wmsports.de, we noticed that there were some customer reviews at the bottom of the home page. But upon further investigations, the reviews seemed doctored and fake.
For instance, there was a review from Pierre Escrivant, but to our surprise, they were talking about curtains. There is no mention of curtains anywhere on the website, so it is safe to say that this review was fake.
We could only find very few external reviews about wmsports.de on other sites like ScamAdviser. There were no reviews on other sites like Trustpilot or Sitejabber. The few we got were all negative with one customer complaining that they got a wrong-size jersey but the company refused to help.
Overall, there are many red flags about wmsports.de that should make anyone think twice about buying from them. The prices seem too good to be true, the return policy is complicated and the customer reviews are fake.
Anyone wishing to buy from this site should be cautious. The chances of getting the wrong product, receiving counterfeit goods or not getting a product at all are high.
