When people search for a company on ScamAdviser, it's because they want to know if the company is safe to do business with. Since Sonnenlit became one of the most searched sites on ScamAdviser, we wanted to research and find out more about the company.
Sonnenlit is an online shop with a German domain and language and specializes in selling women's clothing, jewellery, and accessories.
Everything about the site screams German, from the domain (.de) to the language used on the site. However, when we tried to find more information about the company, we realized that things don't add up.
For starters, the site claims to be in "Room 610, Building 2, No.109, Software Avenue, Yuhuatai District, Nanjing, CN210012".
This is a Chinese address, which begs the question, why would a German company have its headquarters in China?
Upon further research, we found that this is a common trick by Chinese scammers. They use a German domain and language to trick people into thinking they're dealing with a legitimate German company.
Given that the company is registered in China, it's highly unlikely that they would have a German mailing address. This is just one more red flag that points to the fact that this company is most likely a scam.
Plus, the store says its official company name is Nanjing Yikefan Information Technology Co., Ltd. This is another Chinese company name, which again, raises more suspicion about the legitimacy of Sonnenlit. Why would a computer software company be doing business in the fashion industry?
One of the best ways to tell if a company is legitimate or not is to check out customer reviews.
Unfortunately, we couldn't find many positive customer reviews for Sonnenlit. On ScamAdviser, there are 20 reviews, and the vast majority of them are negative. People have complained about not receiving their orders, or receiving items that look nothing like the pictures on the website.
Some people have even said that they received items after a very long time and they were in poor condition. Customer support also seems to be non-existent, as many people have said that they tried reaching out but never received a response.
On Trust Pilot, the trend continues with many customers complaining about bad quality products. Most tried reaching out to support to no avail.
After looking into Sonnenlit, we can say it's most likely a fraud. The company is most likely based in China and is using a German domain and language to trick people into thinking they're dealing with a German company.
At this point, it's pretty clear that Sonnenlit is not a reputable company. If you're thinking about ordering from them, we would advise against it. There are too many red flags and not enough positive customer reviews to make us feel comfortable recommending them.
