[Scam Alert] “Recently there have been reports citing Copyright Violations of your Facebook posts…?” Facebook Phishing (20210716)

Do you run a Facebook fan page? Be careful of this latest Facebook phishing attack!

We have written about Facebook phishing attacks for several times, but scammers keep upgrading their tactics and tricks, trying to gain access to your Facebook account. Scammers first send you a message, claiming that Facebook is going to shut down your page due to “reports citing Copyright Violation”:

ACTION REQUIRED Recently there have been reports citing Copyright Violations of your Facebook posts, so we require you urgently to contact Facebook Support to resolve this issue before we shut down your page. Get in touch with Facebook Business Support: https://m.me/307220929311234?id=1251 This notice is valid only 48 hours and if you don’t take action we will suspend your account without further notice. They instruct you contact Facebook Business Support via a link they provide. If you do so, you will be taken to a fake Facebook fan page named “

Scammer will ask you to provide sensitive information like login credentials. The information you submit will end up in scammers/hackers’ hands. They can thus get access to your Facebook account along with your fan pages. Or, they can use the information for other scams such as identity theft.

How to avoid Facebook Phishing Scams

  • Turn to the Facebook official directly for help. Don’t use links others provide you; search for Facebook Business Help Centerand go to the site yourself instead.
  • Be smart with your personal information. Please don’t share it online!
  • Never click on links from unknown resources. Check before you take any action! Copy/paste any link and send it to Trend Micro Check for immediate scam/phishing detection.
