Minerfox.com Review: Legit or a Scam?

Recently, there have been a lot of scams involving cryptocurrency. Thus, when Minerfox.com was among the most searched sites on ScamAdviser, we decided to take a deeper look. Crypto Scam losses amounted to $14 billion last year and they continue to be some of the most popular.

Minerfox.com is a crypto mining site that promises huge returns to investors. But are they legit site or a scam? Read on to find out more about Minerfox.com.

How old is Minerfox.com?

According to data on Whois.com, Minerfox.com was registered in 2021. Being a new site, it does not help to build user confidence. New sites have little data and track record to show which is why it's easier for scammers to dupe unsuspecting customers.

This is because, the older a site is, the more likely it's going to be legit. Additionally, older sites have more information out there as they have been operational for a while.

Social Media

We found a Facebook page under the name Minerfox and they seem to be updating the customers about their products. However, we found out that the page was created in July 2022, over a year after the domain was registered.

Why would a site wait for that long before opening a Facebook page? In most cases, sites open both the social media pages and the domain concurrently.

Customer Reviews

There are a lot of customer reviews available online about Minerfox.com. On Trustpilot, there are over 63 reviews with an average of 3.9 stars. While this sounds okay, there is more to it than meets the eye.

Most of the clients are complaining that they never get their money back from the website when they try to make a withdrawal. Others complain that it’s hard to get in touch with customer support.

This is a common tactic used by scammers who are extremely responsive before clients make deposits but go quiet on customers when they want to make a withdrawal. Most of the dubious sites vanish after taking customers’ money.

Minerfox.com has been closed

Fortunately, or unfortunately, we found out that Minerfox.com has been closed. They claim that “we had some problems that made us decide to close the site.”

This is a sad reality for the investors who had taken the time to invest their hard-earned money into the site. Though they claim that investors can start making withdrawals for up to 1 year. This remains to be seen as most closed-down sites rarely refund customers. The sudden closure of an investment site is called an ‘exit scam’.

Bottom Line

Long before Minerfox.com was shut down, they had characteristics which over overlapped with crypto scams. The reviews were negative and the site was fairly new. The returns promised were quite high and the Facebook page was created recently.

With the site closed and investors told to wait for 1 year to receive their withdrawals, it remains to be seen if they will get the funds.
