Lecity.shop Review: Is it Safe or a Scam?

Lecity.shop has been among the most searched sites on ScamAdviser with many visitors asking, “Is Lecity.shop legit?”

Well, in this review, we will analyze everything to do with Lecity.shop and give you all the necessary information to make an informed decision.

Lecity.shop is an online shop that sells a variety of products from dining sets to patio furniture. However, are they legit or a scam?

Is Lecity Impersonating Bed Bath & Beyond?

On the website, one of the first things I noticed is that they claim to be Bed Bath & Beyond. They include the name several times, including at the top, which is very suspicious.

Scammers often impersonate popular brands to dupe customers into believing they are buying from a reputable site.

High-Pressure Sales Tactics

I noticed that Lecity.com is using some well-known high-pressure tactics on its website. For starters, there are constant pop-ups indicating that a customer has made a purchase. However, there is no way of verifying such a claim and the pop-up could be entirely fake.

As if that’s not enough, they also display the number of people “currently viewing” the product. While at the same time, they indicate the number of items remaining, which could also be fake and deliberately kept low to create a fake sense of urgency for buyers.

If that’s not enough, they also include the number of people viewing the product, the number of people who have allegedly purchased in the last 7 days, and the number of people who have viewed the product in 7 days.

All this seems to be a desperate move to appear legitimate and dupe customers into thinking they can be trusted.

Ridiculous Prices & Crazy Offers

Though offering discounts is a good move, when the offers are too good, it raises a few questions. For Lecity, most of the products they offer seem to have a whopping 89% off. For instance, the Moshannon Wicker/Rattan 6 - Person Seating Group with Cushions is quoted at $49.25 down from $482.93.

Scammers always offer crazy offers to lure bargain hunters who often jump into deals without a second thought. Nowhere in the world would you get a 6-person Seating chair for less than $50 unless it's a counterfeit or a scam?

Owned by the Dubious Fadel-Beatty Limited

On the “Contact Us” page, they claim they are owned by Fadel-Beatty Limited which is a dubious company registered in Ireland related to several questionable websites. I have written extensively about Fadel-Beatty Limited in the past in reviews such as Skylarks.shop.

This could suggest that Lecity.com is part of a larger scam network that uses Fadel-Beatty Limited. It's likely that Fadel-Beatty Limited is a shell company registered by a Chinese national to transfer funds to China.

Bottom Line

Overall, we doubt the legitimacy of Lecity.com. There are simply too many red flags to ignore. They offer products at prices well below the market price and use fake discounts to lure unsuspecting customers.

They seem to impersonate Bed Bath and Beyond and claim Lecity.com will be closed soon to create a sense of urgency for buyers. On the same note, they seem to be employing high-pressure sales tactics to force customers to quickly make a purchase before the products supposedly run out of stock.

Levity claims to be owned by a dubious company, Fadel-Beatty Limited, which appears to be a shell company associated with thousands of suspicious sites. When shopping at Lecity.com, caution should be observed as it may be a scam.
