Is Vencano a Scam? | Website Review

Vencano is an online women’s clothing store which has several product categories like as tops, dresses, swimsuits, shoes and more.

They seem to have various discounts between 30%-60% as part of a mid-year sale. At first glance, the website doesn’t seem convincing. There is no brand logo and the site design hasn’t been properly optimized.

The website content is not original as the text used in the ‘About Us’ section can be found on multiple other websites. Upon further research, there are at least 42 websites identical to Vencano:

These websites are similar in design, content, offers and even products. Some of the websites are in languages other than English, including Spanish, French and Dutch.

As the same products are listed across multiple websites, my guess is that there is a single wholesaler selling products globally using different ecommerce stores, most likely from China.

Another possibility is that they are all dropshipping stores sourcing products from the same wholesaler. In my opinion, the websites are too identical for this to be the case.

I will be focusing on Vencano for the purpose of this review. However, the findings about Vencano apply for all the websites in the above list as they are similar even when it comes to red flags.

Scamadviser Verification

The Scamadviser page of Vencano has not been claimed by the company.

There are no contact details provided and the only way to get in touch with Vencano is by using an online form. The social media pages could also be used to contact them. A missing phone number makes it difficult to establish one-to-one contact with a company representative. The lack of an address makes it unclear where the company is located.

On TrustPilot, the company has claimed its website and the location is given as Hong Kong but the exact address has not been shared.

Scamadviser Trust Score

Scamadviser User Reviews

User reviews of Vencano are highly negative. It has a rating of 1.7/5 based on 267 user reviews across Scamadviser, TrustPilot and Safe.Shop.

There are various types of complaints against Vencano. Some users have complained that they never received their orders and the company provided them with a tracking number which showed that the package has been delivered. When they contacted Vencano, all they received were automated responses. Another common complaint is that customers didn’t receive all the items ordered. Other founds the products to be of extremely low quality. Many users have complained that the products took over a month to arrive even though the website mentions that expedited shipping takes 3-6 business days and standard shipping takes 7-15 business days.

The company has been replying to reviews on Trustpilot but they are stock responses and don’t address the complaint directly. These replies seem insincere as the responses claim that a supervisor will resolve the complaint, even though the review doesn’t contain any customer/order details.

You can read the user reviews here.

Conclusion

There is a high likelihood of having a bad shopping experience with Vencano.

There are several complaints against Vencano which range from orders not being delivered at all to products being of lower quality than expected or in the wrong sizes. The low user scores indicate that a majority of customers are unhappy with their experience after shopping at Vencano.

There are also many red flags which create an untrustworthy impression of Vencano. It seems to be a low-effort website created using content from other stores. The lack of contact details is a sure sign of bad customer service. The age of the store has been misrepresented to give a false sense of longevity.

It seems that Vencano are misrepresenting their company and services, are unable to live up to their promises and inadequately address concerns of customers. It is recommended to avoid shopping at Vencano. The 42 other websites listed at the beginning of the article should also be eyed with equal suspicion.
