Trochage.com is an online store that sells different products such as tops and dresses. However, are they legit or a scam? Can you trust them with your money? Let’s find out, shall we?
When I checked their About Us page, I was stunned to see this phrase, “is mainly engaged in retailing of clothing, and the team has a series of professionals.” The same appears on a host of other dubious websites such as Vigeneer.com.
One of the easiest ways you can tell, apart from the copied content, is the grammatical errors on the About Us page. For instance, the names of the websites, e.g. “vigeneer” is in small caps and there is a weird gap between the first word and the rest of the sentence. It’s as if they had a template ready and they only added the name of the website they are working on.
I noticed that Trochage.com is offering a host of discounts, most of which are prominently displayed on their website and on pop-ups For instance they claim buying two products gets you a 5% discount and 15 items gets you 30% off. They also claim that new arrival items have a 20% discount. As they say, when a deal is too good, you think twice.
When I checked for reviews on sites such as Trustpilot and ScamAdviser, my efforts were futile. There were no reviews on the popular platforms meaning customers are flying blind as they have no idea what to expect from the webstore.
In an era where social media is vital for online businesses, I found it conspicuous that Trochage.com lacks any social proof. I could not find any social media buttons which is common with dubious websites. Since most of these websites are short-term, they tend not to invest in a lot of things that you would find on legit websites. Though the lack of social media does not prove that it's a scam website, it leaves a lot to be desired.
According to the information I found on Whois.com, Trochage.com was registered in February 2024. This makes it a relatively new website which is harder to trust compared to older websites. Newer websites have limited information which means it’s harder to gauge them.
It should also be noted that the registrant is from China, which is considered a high-risk country.
Overall, there is a high possibility that Trochage.com may be a scam. There are too many red flags that are too hard to ignore. The high number of discounts available is too good to be true, the content is copied and pasted from other dubious websites and there are links to a scam network. The reviews are limited and social media presence is non-existent with the website being relatively new having been registered a few months back.
Exercise caution when dealing with Trochage.com, there are more reliable online fashion stores and reputable online marketplaces. Stay sharp as you shop safe!
