The domain name was registered in June 2020 in Guangdong, China. The registrant’s other details such as name and contact details have not been provided. Ellemodes has an Alexa rank just over 1 million, which means that it is considerably popular.
The products being sold on the website are not original. The same items could be found on Aliexpress at much lower prices. The price difference is as high as 60% in some cases.
The content on the website is not original. There are more than 100 other websites that are using the same text that is used on the About Us page of Ellemodes.
The website is quite basic and barely has any content apart from the product listings.

The only contact method provided on the website is an email ID. No phone number or address has been provided.
Though no social media pages are mentioned on the website, I found that two separate Facebook pages exist for Ellemodes. Both these pages have been created a day after the website domain was registered. One of them seems to be the primary page and the other one looks like a backup. The page information shows that a majority of the page admins are from China. The main page is running ads on Facebook.
I found the company information is tucked away in the Terms & Conditions page. Curiously, the company details have been formatted as an image, presumably to avoid detection by search engines. This is because there are tens of websites being operated by the company which is supposedly also operating Ellemodes and several of them have been labelled as scams and/or have complaints from unhappy customers. Some of these websites also seem to be dodgy online pharmacies.
This company is called Sheness Ltd. and is apparently based in Cyprus. It is likely to be a shell incorporation as the domain registration details and social media information clearly show that Ellemodes is being operated from China.
In totality, there are 173 websites that are using the same content as Ellemodes or are operated by Sheness Ltd. An IP address analysis showed that 94 out of 144 (65.2%) websites tested have shared IP addresses. This clearly shows that there are hundreds of websites being operated by the same owners.
Only one review could be found for Ellemodes, which is a negative review written on TrustPilot. The customer has alleged that they received an inferior product and that they were refused a refund unless they shipped the item back. As the item was probably shipped from China, the cost of returning the item would be significantly high, often almost the same or higher than the cost of the product itself.
