Is Castillotigo.com a Legit Business or Fraud?

With a spike in online shopping, many new businesses have popped up offering great deals on popular items. However, with the increase in online shopping also comes an increase in online scams. Castillotigo.com is a website that offers amazing deals on women’s clothing, but is it a legitimate business or a scam? Let's find out, shall we?

Where are they from?

When you visit to the home page, you will find it's in Spanish and may be tempted to think it may be a scam right off the bat. After some research, we found that Castillotigo is based in China. They have listed their address as "1002t-05, building a, building 8, Hubin Commercial Plaza, No. 55, Suzhou Changzhou highway (Mocheng section), Changshu, China".

Interestingly, they also claim that the site is owned by yet another company, Kentesh Ltd, which is registered in the UK. In all this, there is no mention of Spain, or Spanish-speaking countries, which may make you wonder if they are just targeting Spanish speakers.

This is a common trick used by scammers who hide behind fake companies in different countries to avoid getting caught. The fact that the site is in Spanish is to lure unsuspecting Spanish speakers into thinking that the company is based in Spain.

Their contact information

Usually, businesses have some way for their customers to get in touch with them, whether it's through a phone number, email address or even a mailing address. This is so you can ask any questions you may have about the product, the company or your order.

However, when we tried to look for Castillotigo.com's contact information, something did not add up. On their "Contáctenos page", they list customer@castillotigo.com as their email address.

But on the "Política de Devolución page", they list yet another email,  castillotigo@himygift.com. The main difference is that the second email has a different domain name.

Again, this is very common with scammers who use different email addresses to avoid getting caught. They know that if they use the same email address for everything, it will be easier for people to track them down and report them. What’s even more suspicious is that the domain ‘himygift.com’ is inactive.

There is also no mention of a phone number or mailing address anywhere on the site. This is another red flag, as legitimate businesses usually want their customers to be able to reach them in case they have any questions or problems.

What the customers say

We found several reviews of Castillotigo.com on different sites, and the general consensus is that there are a lot of negative reviews. On ScamAdviser, the site has 1.7 out of 5 stars while on Trustpilot, the site has a 3-star rating.

One customer said that they ordered shoes from the site and never received them. Another said that they messed up the mailing address and refused to change it. Yet another customer said that the quality of the items they received was very poor.

Most customers also struggle to get any meaningful help from customer service when theyreach out.

All of these are common complaints related to scam sitess, and it's likely that Castillotigo.com is no different.

Conclusion

There are many characteristics that show Castillotigo may be a scam. They use common tricks to try and fool their customers, such as using the Spanish language to target Spanish speakers (despite being based in China) and using different email addresses to avoid getting caught.

They also have negative customer reviews, with many people saying they never received their order or that the quality of the items they did receive was very poor.

Customers should exercise caution if they are considering making a purchase from this site. It may be best to avoid Castillotigo altogether and find a more reliable and reputable fashion retailer.
