Is Canadaims.org Legit or a Scam? | ScamAdviser

Looking to immigrate to Canada? Well, you may have heard about Canadaims.org. They claim to be a “full-service immigration consultancy firm” but are they legit or not? With many dreams killed by quacks pretending to be immigration experts, we jumped into this review to give you all the necessary information.

So buckle up as we dig deeper into everything there is to know about Canadaims.org.

What exactly do they do?

According to the site, they claim to offer a variety of services, such as job hunting and immigration preparation. They even go so far as to say that they work with regulated Canadian immigration consultants (RCICs), who supposedly walk you through the entire process.

However, as far as I could tell, they have not listed any of the RCICs, which makes it hard to trust them. You see, in most cases, it's advisable for websites to not only list the names of the immigration consultants but also their registration numbers. Canadian law requires that they be “registered with the ICCRC and should be accredited as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)”

For Canadaims.org to claim they are a “ full-service immigration firm” and still fail to list their RCICs feels dodgy.

Customer Reviews

When I checked the customer reviews, I found that many customers were not happy with the services they received from CanadaIMS.org.  On ScamAdviser, one customer complains that the site is pushy to the point of threatening to scrap the application unless it's paid for.

On Trustpilot, one customer complained that they too were harassed to make payments beforehand, otherwise, their file would be done with. They also claim that upfront payment for such services is not the norm and is only common with scammers.

Who Owns Canadaims.org?

On the “Evaluation Page,” they claim that they are owned by Canada-IMS Ltd., but they don’t provide further details. I could not find any other information about where the company is based, as they have not listed any office locations on their website.

When I checked their information on Whois.com and ScamAdviser, I was surprised to see the site was registered in 2019 and they had hidden the identity of their owners.

This is weird, as on their website home page they claim to have existed for 17 years.

However, when I dug a little deeper, according to ZoomInfo, I found that the company is allegedly located in the UK.

We searched for Canada-IMS, Canada IMS, and CanadaIMS in the company registry of the United Kingdom, Company House, but could not find a listing.

Are they part of a larger network?

I noticed that they are using the same name and company across different websites. When I searched this statement: “The Canada-IMS website is owned and operated by Canada-IMS LTD," a lot of websites with different domain names appeared. They include:

  • Canadaims.online
  • Canadaims.com (inactive)
  • Imscanada-online.com
  • Canadaims.info
  • Caims.online

Plus, there are so many more websites that seem to use the same information and layout. Interestingly, they seem to use the same email ID as the means of communication: Support@canadaims.org. This could indicate that Canadaims.org is higher up in their chain, and it also seems to have a better layout than most of the other websites.

Some websites, like Canadaims.info, have received some unfavorable feedback from users who claim that after registering, they will call and demand an even larger payment. This could indicate they are setting up a larger network of websites to dupe customers.

Contact Details

When I checked their phone number, 1-778-382-77-57 on TelGuarder, I was shocked to see it listed as owned by canadaims.com.

On telguarder.com, there are a lot of complaints,  with many complaining that they were asked for credit card details over the phone. Many gave the number a 1-star rating, which is never a good sign for any organization.

Bottom Line

Overall, we have doubts about Canadaims.org, as there are too many red flags that are hard to ignore. The site has attracted a lot of negative feedback owing to its aggressive marketing and sales techniques. The lack of information about RCICs dents the credibility of the whole organization.

They have not listed any physical offices, and their company seems to be based in the UK. Perhaps the most telling is the fact that there are several websites with the same name but different domains. Interestingly, most of the websites share the same layout and content, but they all have the same email address: support@canadaims.org. The phone number seems to attract a lot of negative criticism, with many complaining about being asked for credit card information over the phone.

In general, you should be cautious when dealing with Canadaims.org, as you are likely going to be bombarded with lots of calls and threats to put your file aside unless you pay upfront.
