Is Beliys.com a Scam or Legit?

As beliys.com was among the most-searched sites on ScamAdviser, we decided to review it for our users. With an increase in online shopping scams, buyers need to have all the information available before making a purchase.

Beliys.com is an online fashion store that claims to offer clothing for fashion-savvy women. But are they a scam or a legit site? Let’s dive deeper into this, shall we?

The start date

On the ‘About Us’ page, they claim to have been operational for 10 years. But according to Whois.com, the site was registered in November 2021.

Scammers have been known to exaggerate the website age as older sites are more trustworthy than new websites, something scammers want to capitalize on.

Who owns the site?

On the About us page, they have listed XBP International as the company behind the site. For starters, this part is in image form, which makes it a bit harder to verify the company details. We checked the said company on the Company House website as they claim to be from the UK.

XBP International was incorporated in 2019, which further damages beliys.com's claims of being operational for over 10 years.

XBP International is being run by a Chinese national which could indicate that beliys.com may be part of a syndicate of Chinese scam websites. This is a common trick where many websites use the name of a registered company to convince people they are a legitimate UK-based business while in reality, they are scammers from China.

Copied content

While some websites strive to have authentic content, dubious sites don’t give it much thought. That’s why they use duplicated content as they only plan to have the site active for a short time. We found similar content to Beliys.com on other sites like FemmeFinery.

This is a common trick used by scammers who don’t want to invest in good content writing as they only focus on short-term gains.

The huge discounts

Offering discounts is a common marketing tactic. But when the discounts are big and applied all across the store, it raises suspicion. With Beliys.com, they seem to offer discounts on almost all of their products.

While there is nothing wrong with this, it's a common trick used by scammers who lure unsuspecting buyers with ridiculously low prices. Once purchased, the items never arrive or when they do, they are usually low quality.

The reviews

There are a lot of reviews about Beliys.com online. On the website itself, there are reviews about specific products. For example, the “Black and White Chevron Print Green Stripe Turtleneck Sweater” has an alleged 22 reviews. However, there is no way of knowing if the reviews are original or fabricated.

On other websites like ScamAdviser, the site has an overall rating of 1 star with buyers complaining that they received poor-quality items.

On Trustpilot, the webshop has an overall rating of 4.3 ratings with over 73 reviews. Most of the reviews are positive but there are quite a number of negative reviews. Most of the negative reviews are complaining that the products are nothing like the pictures they saw.

Bottom line

Overall, there are a lot of characteristics that show that Beliys.com is likely a scam. They claim to be owned by a company that is registered in the UK but has Chinese owners. This is very similar to what we see with dubious websites, especially from China. They seem to have copied content from other sites and lied about the age of the business which is never a good sign.

They also offer huge discounts on almost all of their products and there is no way of authenticating the reviews on their site. Reviews on other sites state that the customers received clothing of poor quality and never got a  refund. Caution is to be exercised while shopping at Beliys.com.
