Is Azzlee.com Legit or a Scam?

Let’s admit it, no one loves losing their hard-earned money to scammers. With online shopping now becoming riskier thanks to scammers, it pays to be extra careful. Thus, when Azzlee.com appeared on the most-searched list on ScamAdviser, we were compelled to take a look.

Azzlee.com is an online store that sells women’s clothes, such as tops, bottoms and dresses. Are they legit, or are they another cleverly disguised scam? Let’s find out, shall we?

Is Azzlee Part of a Larger Scheme?

If you are a regular reader, you may know that most of the stores we review are usually part of larger schemes. With this in mind, I decided to check if Azzlee has any connections with other websites.

I searched the phrase “Azzlee is the global leading online retailer for tops, bottoms and dresses. Our dedicated fashion buyers, who have more than 10 years' experience in this industry..” and was stunned by the results.

The same text appears on a host of other websites, which heightens our suspicion that Azzlee may be a part of a larger scam network. Scammers usually use the same text over and over as they don’t want to invest in good content for short-term sites.

What Customers Say

Though Azzlee was registered in 2022, there are few reviews available. On ScamAdviser, the site has an overall rating of 1.3/5 stars from 3 reviews. One of the customers has complained about not getting the correct size and how complicated it is to return the products. They continued to lament that they got the wrong sizes and the store insisted that that was the correct size.

On Trustpilot, Azzlee.com has an overall rating of 2.2/5 stars from 8 reviews. However, when I checked on Sitejabber, I was shocked to see the site has an overall rating of 4.4 stars with a whopping 10,000 reviews. To put it into perspective, Amazon, the leading e-commerce platform has just under 10k reviews even though it has been around for many more years than Azzlee.

I found this to be absurd as most new websites don’t usually have these kinds of reviews. This aroused our suspicions that Azzlee may be engaging in Customer Review Fraud.

Complicated Return Policy

One of the things that have remained clear in most of the reviews I found is that customers have been required to pay for shipping to return their defective, missized products. In fact, this is something they have stated on their “Return Page” where they claim that customers have to pay the return shipping costs.

Again, this is a move synonymous with scammers who simply make it hard for customers to return the products. In some cases, the cost to return the products is usually higher than the actual cost.

Their Marketing Gimmicks

Glancing through Azzlee.com, you can’t help but notice that most, if not all products have huge discounts. However, when you do a deep dive, you realize this is just a marketing gimmick. For instance, the “Round Neck Loose Long Dress Plus Size Long Beach” is quoted at $39.58 down from $80.00, a huge 51% off.

When I checked on Amazon, I was stunned to see the same dress going for $13.45 meaning that even at discount, Azzlee is still selling the product at a higher price.

The use of the huge discount is meant to lure unsuspecting customers who are looking for bargain deals. Thus, it's always wise to do your due diligence before buying a product you find online.

Bottom Line

In general, there are a lot of characteristics on Azzlee.com that overlap with scam websites. For starters, the site seems to be a part of a larger syndicate of scam websites that are using the same text. Customer reviews are most critical as many customers complain of getting the wrong products or sizes and being unable to return the products. This is because Azzlee has complicated the return policy with customers being required to pay to return the products. This is a common move by scammers as customers are forced to make do with cheap, wrong-size products.

Most of the products listed on the website have huge discounts but this is a desperate move to capture the attention of impulse buyers. Overall, customers should be careful when dealing with Azzlee.com as there is a high possibility of getting cheap products that they will be unable to return. There are more reliable fashion shopping sites out there.
