Devemp Review: A Scam or Legit Business?

Engineering projects require a great deal of financing and competency to pull off big projects. So, when people search Devemp.ca on ScamAdviser, we became curious and wanted to know more about the site. Devemp offers a host of engineering services from civil engineering to mechanical engineering to electrical engineering

Copied Text

With most dubious sites, there is always the element of copying content from other websites. I was curious to see if Devemp had their own original content or had copied from other sites. When I searched the following:

“multidisciplinary team of engineering experts can successfully carry out projects of any size and complexity. Our team offers the most up-to-date, sustainable and trusted suppliers of quality control."

I got a lot of similar websites with the same kind of information. Sites like Vgasrl.com, and Rampint.com have the same kind of description.

The sites seem to be sharing similar looks and designs which always raises suspicions.

Where are they based?

Location is always a good way of telling the legitimacy of a website. Most legit sites will not have any problems displaying their location. With Devemp, they have listed 301 Trillium Dr, Kitchener, ON N2E 1W9, Canada as their location.

When I tried searching the same information on Google Maps, I could not find any information related to Devemp.ca

When I searched the same information on Info-clipper, there was no establishment known as Devemp in that location.

The Google results showed that the listed location belongs to a Middle School called Kathir.

Who are the owners?

When I searched the same information on Whois.com, I found that the site has strong links to Lagos, Nigeria which suggests that it could be part of a syndicate of Nigerian scam sites.

What are the solutions?

Any serious business will always want to put its best foot forward with its work. When I searched some of the company's solutions, some of their solutions appeared to be straight from books. For instance, the Chemical Research Engineering ( which is suspiciously listed under Civil Engineering) reads,

“Materials Science and Engineering A provides an international medium for the publication of theoretical and experimental studies related to the load-bearing capacity of materials….”

That felt more like a definition and true to it, I found that to be an excerpt from a book: Materials Science and Engineering.

Upon further research, I found that this was a consistent theme with most of the site’s content. Some seemed displaced and without any relationship with the main topic.

There was a lot of repetitions on the site with content that did not seem to be the right fit.

Looking at the ‘Our Team’ section, I can clearly see that it looks suspicious. The description used is similar to that of other sites like Creaform Engineering and Rampint.

In the case of Rampint, they have gone ahead and used the same name and descriptions as Devemp.

The social media buttons shared under each team member are not working. This could be a cheap attempt to try and convince people they have a legit, versatile team.

Overall, we doubt the legitimacy of Devemp.ca. The site seems to be a part of a Nigerian scam syndicate. The site was started in May 2021, according to ScamAdviser and there is little to suggest that they will deliver on what they are offering.

Proceed with caution when doing business with them.
